Jimmie “Jim” Ray Vaught, age 77, of Evansville, IN, passed away Friday, March 6, 2020, at home, surrounded by family.

Jim was born September 8, 1942, in Ridgway, IL, to Robert and Wilma (Hendrix) Vaught. He graduated from Ridgway High School in 1959 and was a member of Oak Hill Christian Center. Jim retired from Peabody Coal Company and later retired as a self-employed landscaper.

Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Eva (Pinnell) Vaught; daughter, Sherri Arnold (Mike); sons, Coy Vaught (Linda) and Robert Vaught (Heather); sister, Sandy Brown (Robert); grandchildren, Laura (Dustin), Katie, Zach (Lacey), JT (Allison), Danielle (Tyler), Chase (Haley), Sheridan, and Blake; and 10 great grandchildren.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bobby Vaught.

Celebration of Life will be held at 6:00 p.m., Monday, March 9, 2020, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Chaplain Vicki Hopkins officiating. Burial will be Private.

Friends may visit from 4:00 p.m. until service time, Monday, March 9, 2020, at BOONE FUNERAL HOME EAST CHAPEL.
