There is now a less costly way to present Memory Portraits to the families you serve: Print-Your-Own Memory Portraits. If you are willing to invest in a new printer for your location Memory Portraits will create the portraits and send you the printable images the same day. You just print it there - this is a fast, convenient and reliable way to get your prints. You continue to place your order and send us the photo as usual. We will create the same quality portrait as usual, either in our Old World style, Black and White style, or our newer Studio style. You won't have to pay any more when you want reprints - just print whatever you need for the family. And you can now receive Print-Your-Own portraits on Sunday! Contact us for details.
We highly recommend that you invest in a high quality printer and use quality archival ink so your prints will have the same look and long life as if printed by Memory Portraits. Of course this new printer may be used for your other printing needs in your office, so usually one printer will suffice for printing letters, memorial folders, etc. Such a printer may cost as little as $399.99 if you wish to print the 11x14" as the maximum size or $1849.00 if you want to print 16x20". You will find however, that the savings on each print will quickly repay your original investment. The savings will quickly pay for the printer and you will have the file available so you may print your own reprints for just the cost of paper and ink, thus increasing your profit potential.
You may call us for more details, but for 11x14" prints we are currently recommending the Epson Stylus Photo R1900 printer at a list price of $549.00, Epson UltraChrome ink and the Epson Enhanced Matte paper. For 16x20" prints we recommend the Epson Stylus Pro 4880 with their UltraChrome ink and Enhanced Matte paper. The cost of paper, ink and maintenance will be approximately $3.00 - $3.50 each for the 11x14" and $4.00 - $5.00 for the 16x20" portraits.
You will have some initial investment and some time involved in the printing process, but for those customers that want to capture the savings and don't mind spending a little time in printing operation, this is a new and potentially profitable option. Here are some technical details that may help when you are ready:
• Be sure you have called so we can set your account to receive file-only orders. Then we won't print them in our office.
• We will be able to accept your orders until the same time each day - 3pm on weekdays and noon on Saturdays, central time. Your order will be completed and ready for you to download and print that day.
• To receive an internet file order on SUNDAY, Please Select "Send printable files over the internet (SUNDAY)" to assure you will receive your image file on that day. Place your order prior to Noon Central Time. Normal phone lines and office personnel are not available, please email the artist at artist@memoryportraits.com or you may call the artist at (812)-457-1348. This number is only used on Sundays from 8am to 12pm. NOTE: There is an additional charge for Sunday orders.
• On the first page of the web order form, select the Order Style you would like and "Original" as the Order Type. You do not need to fill in a portrait size.
• We will send you a Zip file that contains images for the 16x20", 11x14" and 5x7" sizes, along with basic printing instructions.
• If you wish to purchase a frame or frame light, please submit a separate order with the appropriate shipping method selected.
• Choose the number of subjects in the photo, fill in the subject's first and last names, then click Continue.
• Under Shipping Information, the last shipping method should be "Send printable file(s) over the Internet". Select this option. If you select a shipping method instead of this option, we will assume you want the portrait printed and shipped.
• The next pages of the order form are the same as a regular order. Verify the order details and price and then attach your image.
• When your order has been completed, you will receive an email with a link to download your finished portrait as a Zip file. Windows XP and Mac Os X can open .zip files without any additional software. If you have an older operating system you may need to download a .zip file extractor, such as WinZip (www.winzip.com)
• Your files will be accessible on our website for seven days after they are completed. We recommend you store your own files so you may print reprints in the future. If you loose your file(s) or would like another one sent, send us an order as a Reprint with the sizes you would like. There will be a $5.00 charge if we need to retrieve a file from our archives and resend it to you.
