Atha (Day) Jones, age 95, of Hallandale, FL., passed away on Wednesday, March 17, 2021, at Aventura Hospital.
Atha was born September 9, 1925, in Grove Center, KY., to the late Curtis and Lucille Day. Atha graduated from Sturgis High School in Sturgis, KY. She worked and retired from Keller Crescent Co. She absolutely loved being around family and friends and was known for being a “snowbird” traveling between Evansville and Hallandale FL. Atha was such a fun, vibrant, positive person and will be loved forever, fondly remembered and greatly missed by many.
Atha is survived by her son, Richard “Rick” Jones (Jeriann); daughter, Carrol Brown (Danny); sister, Wilma Pieren; brother, Joseph Day (Charlotte); 8 grandchildren; Chris Jones (Susan), April Smith (Derrick), Jay Brown (Danielle), Nathan Brown (Athena), Zachary Brown (Tina), Chad Jones, Sara Patterson (Taz), and Barron Jones; and 9 great-grandchildren.
Atha is preceded in death by her husband, Marion Jones; daughters, Cynthia Jones and Cheryl Brown; brothers, Henry Day and Jimmy Day.
