Beverly Ann (Hollingsworth) Thurgood, age 88, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 8:50 a.m. on Sunday, March 1, 2020, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital.

Beverly was born November 22, 1931, in Evansville, IN, to George Hylas and Margaret (Rueger) Hollingsworth. She graduated from Reitz High School in 1949 and was a lifelong-member of First Baptist Church. Beverly retired from Chuck Thurgood Pharmacy, which she and her husband owned. She was president of the Pharmaceutical Auxilary and was a Local State Chairman. Beverly and her husband loved to travel and dance. She was a Sunday School Teacher and Girl Scout Leader for many years. Beverly was a homemaker who loved to bake her famous Gooseberry pies. She was a docent at Angel Mounds, and she enjoyed reading, crocheting, and making ceramics. Beverly loved spending time with her family and telling stories about them.

Beverly is survived by her daughters, Karen Miller (Chris), Beth Gilles (Brian), and Lori Peach (Tom); grandchildren, Kristi Reimer (Matt), Ryan Miller, Jason Miller (Meredith), Shannon Gilles, and Sydney Ann Peach; great grandchildren, Elizabeth Reimer, Emily Reimer, and River Miller; many nieces and nephews; and her life-long friend, Treva Reibel.

Beverly is preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband of 48 years, Charles Thurgood, who passed away in 2002; and sister, Phyllis Stevens.
