Mark A. Martin, 91, of Henderson, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2022, at Redbanks Nursing Home.
He was born May 19, 1931, in Waverly, Kentucky, to the late Albert and Frances Martin. He was a Korean War U.S. Navy veteran having served two tours and was an active member of VFW Post No. 1114. Mark worked for the City of Henderson as a utility service man for 37 years. In his spare time, he excelled at not catching fish and was a true baseball fan. Mark also enjoyed attending many many grandchildren’s multiple activities. He enjoyed spending time with his family and making the Montgomery family burgoo where he was the chief onion peeler.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Jim Martin, Albert Martin, Joe Martin, Phillip Martin, and Bob Martin.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Eleanor Montgomery Martin; two children, Diane Martin Parrish and her husband, Mark, and Steven Martin and his wife, Luann, of Henderson, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Andrew Martin (Matt Brewer), Zach Martin, Alysse Waid (Jeremy), Elizabeth Lee (Kody), Corye Parrish, and Cole Parrish; five great-grandchildren, Meadow Martin, Eli Waid, Avery Waid, Jaxon Waid, and Carson Waid; and nieces and nephews.
